    How the math works

    Step 1. Everything before the final is worth (100 − weight)%; the final is worth weight%.
    Step 2. Needed score = (target − current × (100 − weight)%) ÷ weight%.
    Step 3. If the answer goes over 100, the target is out of reach — the page shows what a perfect final would give you.

    What it does not do

    It does not know your school's rounding rules, it does not handle dropped scores or extra credit, and it does not predict what you will actually score. It is one weighted average, written out so you can check it.

    How is the needed score calculated?

    Needed = (target − current × (100 − weight)%) ÷ weight%. The steps above show the numbers substituted.

    What if I need more than 100%?

    The target is out of reach with this final; the page shows the best grade a perfect final could produce.

    What if the final is worth 0%?

    Then it cannot change your grade, and the page says so instead of dividing by zero.

    Does it handle extra credit or dropped scores?

    No — it assumes one final with a single weight.
